Maximum Temperature
As expected, the temperature is significantly warmer near the equator. The data also implies that the northern hemisphere has colder temperatures at this time of year than the southern hemisphere, specifically, north of 40 degrees latitude. However, this could be because there is far less land south of -40 degrees latitude than compared to north of 40 degrees latitude. Thus, it is likely to be just as warm that far south and the data should take that into account when looking at correlations.
